So I know it’s been quite awhile since I last posted here and for that I have been resoundingly scolded
First and biggest thing: Daughter Veronica had her baby!!!!
Danika Rose Lynn Pittman was Born at 6:57 a.m. May 22, 2006 in Salem, OR. Weighed in at 9 lbs, 11 oz and 21 inches. Nyondo was there, Geof was there, Kurtis, the dad, was of course there. I was there by phone - thank heavens for Skype calls - and got to hear Dani’s first cry as she emerged into the world. Nyondo has posted pics to the customjuju callery and you can check it there. I’ll try to put in some pics and a link here asap.
We’re still in Kathmandu through the end of this month. All pretty well - certainly we’ve survived the revolution. What laid us low was cases of dysentery and I had a fall and reinjured the tendons and muscles in my left foot. So we’ve been recovering and are almost back to normal. Or what passes for normal for us.
The otehr thing that has gotten in our way regarding regular posts is that the wi fi connection I had at our hotel has gone away. They’ve encrypted it and, since I don’t know exactly where it’s coming from, I can’t make arrangments to pay for play and get the password. That majorly sucks since the nearest shop with decent connectivity is quite a hike.
I’ll go into more detail as I am able. We expect to leave for Majnukatilla on or around June 9 to meet up with Nyondo and all of us head for Tso Pema together. Pray for rain - it’ll be hot as hell in Delhi until the monsoons arrive. They’ve come fairly early here to kathmandu, may they do the same in India.
